Sreedharan N., a tailoring entrepreneur from Uduma, Kasaragod, suffered a life-changing spinal injury following a tragic fall in 2023. Once independent and self-reliant, he became bedridden and emotionally overwhelmed. Referred by the Social Department of Kannur Medical College, he arrived at GSRTC in November 2024 after being abandoned by his family and struggling with depression. At GSRTC, he received comprehensive rehabilitation that combined physiotherapy, psychological counselling, compassionate care, and continuous encouragement in a supportive community environment. Gradually, Sreedharan regained physical strength, emotional resilience, and renewed confidence. Beyond rehabilitation, he rediscovered a sense of belonging, purpose, and hope. His journey reflects GSRTC's commitment to restoring not only mobility but also dignity, emotional well-being, and the courage to embrace life again.

After spending nearly three decades living on the streets of Kannur with paralysis and addiction, Mariyadas found a new beginning at GSRTC. With counselling, rehabilitation, and compassionate support, he overcame addiction, improved his mobility, and rediscovered his dignity. Following a road accident, Manoj Kumar lived with a spinal cord injury for more than three years. When he arrived at GSRTC, he depended entirely on a wheelchair. Through persistent rehabilitation and physiotherapy, Manoj gradually regained mobility. Today, he is able to walk independently for short distances—an achievement that has transformed both his physical abilities and self-confidence.

A fall from a jackfruit tree left Toby, the father of three young children, with a severe spinal cord injury. Financial hardship prevented him from receiving timely physiotherapy, causing his condition to deteriorate. After joining GSRTC, Toby underwent intensive rehabilitation and physiotherapy. Within five months, he progressed from complete dependence to walking with the support of a caliper. Today, Toby looks to the future with renewed confidence, proving that hope and determination can overcome even the greatest challenge.

Suresh Kumar sustained a serious spinal cord injury when a wall collapsed on him during demolition work. Following months of uncertainty, he was admitted to GSRTC for rehabilitation. With intensive physiotherapy and a supportive rehabilitation environment, Suresh gradually regained mobility. Today, he walks with the assistance of a walker and independently manages many of his personal activities. He describes GSRTC as more than a rehabilitation centre—a community that inspired him to believe in recovery again.
